Why we do this work
There’s this moment that happens during every retreat.
When you look around, and see everyone’s faces just… glowing. The spark has come back to their eyes. You can see them — the *real* them — maybe for the first time.
That’s why we do this.

I do this work because: I'm just making up an answer. This is just to have some text here. Will say some more so some of these are a bit different. Not really sure how much people will say so want to be flexible but also we can give them character count limits! Let me know what you think!
How psychedelics changed my life: I'm just making up an answer. This is just to have some text here. Will say some more so some of these are a bit different.
A book I wish everyone would read: I'm just making up an answer.
My advice for someone getting ready for a retreat: This is just to have some text here. Will say some more so some of these are a bit different.
Our story
We’ve been pioneers in the field since 2016, when we were the first to offer legal psychedelic retreats in Europe — back when there was no guidebook for what we were doing. Over the years, we’ve developed a best-in-class experience for guided transformation, refined through hundreds of journeys and proven to work time and again.
2016
Founded as part of the UK Psychedelic Society
2016
Offered our first weekend retreats, creating makeshift ceremony rooms by piling mattresses from all over the house into the living rooms of rented Airbnb’s
2019
Evolved from a weekend experience to a four-day retreat, finally landing on five days as the sweet spot for transformation
2020
Spread our wings and became our own separate organisation, now known as Alalaho (and yes, the name came to us at a team psilocybin ceremony)
2022
Hit 1000+ retreat participants
2024
Offered our first retreat in Spain — and felt like we’d found our forever home as soon as we stepped into the space
2024
Officially ran our 100th retreat
Our approach
Where science meets soul.
Our approach at Alalaho is grounded in modern clinical research and best practices for psychedelic therapy — while still making room for the mysteries that come with any plant medicine.
Expect a dogma-free zone where you’re free to explore — no matter what you believe (or don’t).
Our secret sauce.
Our retreats combine three powerful elements that create magic together: Psychedelics. Therapy. Meditation.
Because psychedelics create breakthrough moments. Therapy helps you really understand your experience and make deep, lasting changes. And meditation is a way to continue the journey, every day (because you can’t take mushrooms every day, but you can meditate every day.)
New to this? We’ve got you.
Don’t worry if you’re new to any of it — psychedelics, therapy, or meditation. Most people who come to us are. That’s what we’re here for. We’ll guide you through all of it — without overwhelming you, we promise.
We’re serious about this work, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Expect deep dives and breakthrough moments. But also expect lots of laughs, songs around the campfire, and real connection.
Our founding team
Ciara Sherlock, Stefana Bosse, Jennifer Tessler & Beatrix Bliss
Thank you to these four pioneering spirits. Alalaho could never have been born without your energy, dedication, and love. And thank you to everyone who has been part of our becoming (and will be part of our future) — we are so grateful to each and every one of you.
Our name — Alalaho — comes from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition
The word expresses the innate joy and wisdom that arises when we embrace and accept all aspects of reality, just as it is.
Don’t worry, you might not get it (or even be able to pronounce it). Yet. By the end of your retreat, you’ll have a deeper sense of what we’re talking about.
